Three different fits
Thinkific
Thinkific is the clearest fit of these three when structured learning, assignments, completion evidence, and course commerce are the primary job and community is supporting infrastructure.

Circle is the clearest fit of these three when organized member discussion, events, live interaction, and branded community space lead, with structured courses delivered inside that community.

Mighty Networks is the clearest fit of these three when a paid membership experience should blend community, courses, events, and gamification in one member-facing environment.

Prices are USD annual-billing-equivalent publication snapshots, not quotes. Confirm month-to-month prices, taxes, payment processing, platform or gateway fees, add-ons, annual commitments, creator-country eligibility, and the exact feature tier before purchase.

Current pricing and required-plan traps
Basic is $54/month ($40/month equivalent billed annually), Start is $109 ($82 annual equivalent), Grow is $219 ($164 annual equivalent), and Expand remains $499/month.
In Circle's annual-billing view, Professional is $89/month equivalent, Business is $199/month equivalent, and Circle Plus uses custom pricing.
Mighty Networks lists Explore at $35/month or $350/year. Its annual-billing views show Launch at $79/month, Scale at $179/month, and Growth at $354/month; Mighty Pro is custom priced.
Published payment and platform fees
Thinkific Payments has payment-processing fees but no third-party payment gateway fee. For covered creators who instead use a third-party gateway, Thinkific publishes additional fees of 5% on Basic, 2% on Start, 1% on Grow, and 0.5% on Expand; country, availability, and revenue-cap rules apply.
Circle publishes platform transaction fees of 2% on Professional, 1% on Business, and 0.5% on Circle Plus, in addition to Stripe processing fees.
Mighty Networks publishes web-payment platform transaction fees of 5% on Explore, 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale, and 0.5% on Growth, in addition to Stripe processing fees.
The cheapest listed plan is irrelevant when your required API, SSO, administrator count, live-event capacity, automation, or branded-app capability sits on another tier. Build a requirements list first, then compare the cost of the qualifying tier.
Learning depth versus member interaction
Learning and progress
- Thinkific gives structured course delivery the clearest product emphasis in this set.
- Circle now documents sections, lessons, quizzes, progress, and course types inside a community.
- Mighty Networks integrates courses into a broader membership and event experience.
Community and live interaction
- Circle centers organized discussions, spaces, live rooms, streams, and events.
- Mighty Networks centers an integrated member journey with community, events, and gamification.
- Thinkific supports community and event listings, while its documented community live events use an external meeting link.
Administration, automation, API, and SSO
Assign real internal roles during a trial. Confirm what an owner, course administrator, moderator, analyst, and support operator can see and change. API access alone is not an integration plan: document rate limits, authentication, overage costs, webhooks, error recovery, and who maintains the integration.
Basic includes unlimited courses, quizzes, student discussions, and one community. Start adds certificates, assignments, live cohorts, and memberships; Grow adds more communities, analytics, group orders, API, and webhooks; enterprise SSO is a Plus capability.
Business adds workflows plus Admin and Headless Member APIs. Circle documents custom SSO and its Data API at the Plus tier.
Explore is the entry core-community tier. Launch adds course and event creation, gamification, and basic automations. Scale adds more automation plus API and MCP access. Growth adds higher operating limits, advanced automations, Admin and Headless API access, and optional SSO; branded apps are a Mighty Pro capability.
Data export and portability
All three document some export capability, but none of the evidence here proves that a complete site, course library, media collection, automation set, and payment state can be reconstructed elsewhere. Export samples before committing, and test the fields that matter.
What public review aggregates can—and cannot—add
Search-discovery snapshots of G2-generated aggregate labels for all three products contain both ease-of-use or feature-support themes and limitations around features, customization, setup, interface, or expense. Population and prevalence are unknown. The labels help form trial questions; they do not establish a controlled head-to-head winner.
When none of these three is the right starting point
None should be selected solely from a feature list: organizations needing a fully portable open-source stack, a formally validated enterprise LMS requirement, or a specialized customer-support forum should evaluate other categories before committing.
